Minnesota Lynx Girl Scout event

This might be a fun summer event for your troop.

Hello Girl Scout Troop Leaders, Parents, and volunteers!

It’s time again for our annual Minnesota Lynx Girl Scout event!

This years event will again be taking place on the date of the Minnesota Lynx home opener, Sunday, June 5th. The festivities will kick off at 12pm and game time is at 2:30pm.

At 12pm there will be a pre-game party in the Lynx plaza, with games, face painting, balloon animals, Prowl, and more! Around 1:45 we will gather the Girls to march into the Target Center from the Plaza to the Party Zone! We encourage the girls to wear their vests or favorite Lynx gear, and make signs to show your troop pride!

All Girl Scout participants will receive a Lynx goodie bag complete with participation patch. These can be redeemed through halftime in the Party Zone.

The order form is attached for you with additional details. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or to place your order!

Thank you, and GO LYNX!

Prairie Sun Leader/Troop SWAP Day

WHEN: Saturday April 23rd 10am – 2pm
WHERE: Dunn Bros Coffee Shop – Eden Prairie Rd
WHO: Girl Scout Leaders ONLY

If you have items to donate, please contact your troop leader.   If your leader is not participating, your troop may designate another adult to represent your troop at the event. Our event location just won’t accommodate a large crowd!

Swap Day
Swap Day is part of the Forever Green Council wide Take Action program this year. http://www.girlscoutsrv.org/activities_for_girls/program_essentials/forever_green/
This day helps fulfill one of the requirements for the patch – see waste reduction link on the page that opens with the link above.

Well what is it?
This is where you bring all of that left over or used Girl Scout stuff you have lying around to share with other troops who may need or want the items. Items like books, extra patches, craft supplies, camping items, t-shirts, uniform pieces, etc – anything you think a Girl Scout troop can use. You drop off what you don’t need and you can browse through other troops left overs and can take what you can use. Please only bring items in good/useable condition. If you wish to drop off items please do so between 10am-10:30am.

Start collecting items from around your house – you can check with your families, too. Please note the actual day is for leaders only; if your leader cannot make it, please designate a person to represent your troop. So gather up as much as you want and bring it on down.

Project Wet seminar

Just an FYI – these workshops are FANTASTIC!!  I took their Project Wild one this past summer and had a ton of fun and learned a bunch of cool and fun ways to teach the girls about nature – in my case animals.  This workshop is Water and I wish I were able to go– but the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys Annual Meeting is the same day – because I would be there in a heartbeat!  Gerri and her Husband Mike do some of the best hands on teaching you will come across.  Their sessions are always full to the brim with information that they bring to you in a way that you can easily bring back to your troop.  This class is actually designed for educators and has CEUs you earn by taking it  – so if you know a teacher that would be interested please pass this on.  Again it is a GREAT class!  Follow the link below to the flyer : -)
