April Leaders Meeting Notes

  • Family Partnership – envelopes are in troop folders now and are due back at May leaders’ meeting
  • Spring Registration
    • Council suggests that troops hold a family meeting in the spring for spring registration
    • Early registrations are due June 22nd
    • Registration packets will be in troop folders SOON
    • Online registration is already available. However, financial assistance can not be done online.
    • Kimberly and Kim will post an example Troop manual on websites
    • Centennial Day of Service – please register your entire troop during spring registration
  • Summer Resident Camp – Encourage all families to look at summer camp opportunities
  • Event Calendar
    • Daisy Day – Sun May 20th
    • Brownie Smile Day – Sun April 29th – registrations due April 16th
    • Girls vs Wild – Sat April 28th -registration is now closed
    • Spring Dance – Fri April 27th – registration is due ASAP and there will be a stronger emphasis on the service project this year
    • Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Trip – contact Trish V. with questions
    • Low Ropes course building – please let Beth M. know if you are interested, even if you don’t have a solid commitment from all scouts or a preferred date
    • Bridging – will be on a Fri evening
    • Leader/Daughter event – will be a Fri evening at Paint Your Plate
    • Special 100th Anniversary Event – July 20th – performance by Ann Reed
    • Council would like us to run a late summer recruitment event
    • Fall Encampment – Juniors and older – Sept 21-23
    • Winter Fun –
      • Jan 18-21 2013
      • May 31st is the deadline to email Nancy B. with the camp event for which your troop would like to volunteer
      • email Nancy B. to let her know if your troop will be attending Winter Fun by the Sep leaders meeting
  • Supply Swap – May leaders’ meeting – bring your stash
  • Buy 100 year disc from Kimberly R. – she purchased enough for the entire SU

Registrations
Please make sure that girls are registered. If you register anyone after that date, you will have to use paper registrations – available on the Council’s website:
http://www.girlscoutsrv.org/forms__resources/registration/
Paper registrations are also required for grants.

Troop Finance Reports
Our Service Unit will not receive its money from Council until all of the troop finance reports have been submitted. They were due on June 30th, so please submit yours ASAP if you haven’t already done so.
